Job 0830 is a Landis grinder, specifically the 4R Anglehead main bearing grinder. This OD grinder was rebuilt for a small engine manufacturer located in the southeast United States. The rebuild included all mechanical, electrical, lube, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant systems. Additionally, an Arobotech Steadyrest system with an adjustable gauging probe was added, along with a GE Fanuc CNC processor system with all-new servos. Software systems were developed to interface the Fanuc CNC with the Control Gaging system for automatic machine compensation. New Allen-Bradley Plus II and Allen-Bradley PowerFlex70 drive motors were added for variable speed capability, and a load monitor system was installed. Final runoff took place 20 weeks after the machine arrived at the Inter-Motion facility in Kearney, Nebraska.
