Job 908 is a pair of matching Reinecker Piston Ring grinders for a world-wide automotive manufacturer. The electrical rebuild included an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix system, all new electrical components, and permanent engraving to mark electrical components. Allen-Bradley servo motors were installed on the wheelhead and table slides. A Setco 4.5HP grinding wheel motor, 5HP grinding wheel frequency drive, and integrated load monitoring systems were also added.
A Bijur lubrication system, Rexroth hydraulics, and a Festo pneumatics system were installed. The workhead infeed system was upgraded to +/- .0004 part tolerance and .00005 axis repeatability.
This rebuild also featured an Inter-Motion designed loading system to grind the Keystone Angle.
Rebuild time for this order was 25 weeks to runoff in Kearney, with plant delivery the following week.
